PoolScan is a free informational tool to help pool owners estimate chemical doses based on test readings. It is not a professional pool service, and the recommendations it provides are not a substitute for qualified advice or your own judgement.

PoolScan does not collect, store, or share your personal data.

• Photos you take are sent to our servers solely to be analysed by the AI, then immediately discarded. They are not stored, logged, or used for any other purpose.
• Your pool size, readings, and doses are saved only in your browser's local storage on your own device. We never see or transmit them.
• We do not use cookies, analytics, or tracking of any kind.
• We do not collect your name, email address, or any information that could identify you.

When you use the scan feature, your photo is analysed by an AI system. AI readings are approximate — accuracy varies with photo quality, lighting, and strip brand. The system will sometimes miss parameters or misread colours, particularly for CYA (stabiliser), which is the hardest pad to read reliably.

Always verify each reading against your strip before adding chemicals. If a reading looks wrong, correct it manually or leave it blank. Do not shock your pool based solely on an AI reading — confirm your chlorine and CYA levels first.

Dose amounts are calculated using standard industry formulas and are estimates. Actual requirements vary with your pool's specific chemistry, temperature, equipment, and the exact concentration of the products you use. Always follow the chemical manufacturer's instructions and add chemicals in stages where advised.

Pool chemicals can cause serious injury if mishandled. Always:

• Wear gloves and eye protection
• Add chemicals to water — never the other way round
• Never mix different pool chemicals together
• Store chemicals in a cool, dry, ventilated place
• Keep all pool chemicals out of reach of children
